Sleepy Eye awarded downtown grant

SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye Downtown Revitalization Committee recently received a $10,000 Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation grant.

Sleepy Eye Downtown Revitalization Committee chairman Tom Larson said the grant will enable the city to add benches and information for a downtown walking tour.

With funding from the grant, residents and visitors will be able to learn more about building, business and community history.

SMIF grants are awarded to nonprofits and local governments that support economic development, early childhood development and community vitality in a 20-county region.
